Queens of The Stone Age

So - 01.12.2013 I went to my third and last Queens of The Stone Age of the year. And it was fucking incredible. Hands up - amazing! I could go on writing about how good it was, but the fact that I've already seen them six times, and I still come back for more, should say it all. So a big thank you to Queens of The Stone Age, for making 2013 to an amazing music year, with the release of ...Like clockwork, and brilliant live performances.

All pictures taken by me.

OSLO 29.11.2013 - 02.12.2013

Picture taken by Zahra.

Last night I got back to London after a long weekend in Oslo with Zahra and Katrine. We spent our days drinking hot chocolate while walking around town, trying to survive the freaking cold. Sunday night we saw Band of Skulls and Queens of The Stone age at Oslo Spektrum, but that deserves a blog post of it's own.

S W E E T H E A D

Zahra and I went to see Troy Van Leuween's Sweethead at Camden Barfly last night. It turns out Brody Dalle was there as well which is pretty cool, but somehow I didn't spot her in that tiny venue.

Anyway, it was a good night and we had loads of fun. Ended up dancing for hours, before we grabbed some food and headed back to mine. So far today's been spent on the sofa eating pizza and watching TV, but I guess I should get up soon, as I've got some errands to run.

N A M B U C C A

Last night Zahra and I went to Nambucca to see my boyfriend play. He was tall, dark and handsome as always. Today I finished work an hour early, because we were going on a work trip to Brussels. I'm currently comfortably tucked into bed, after having a steak for dinner, followed by a bath when we got back. So far Belgium is treating me good, all I need now is a decent breakfast tomorrow morning, followed by some belgian waffles and chocolate.

P I N G V I N E N

I had an amazing time home in Bergen last week. In two days, I managed to squeeze in two family dinners, coffe and cake at my grandmother's house, see my sister's play in the theatre, and go for lunch with my dad at "Pingvinen", where I had the best bacon and eggs I've had in a long time, despite the fact that I actually live in England! So if you're ever in Bergen, Pingvinen in Vaskerelven is worth a visit. It looks like a Norwegian home from the 70's, and they serve traditional Norwegian food. And bacon and eggs. YUM.

ST. JUDE

I snapped this picture from my bedroom window on Monday, while waiting for St.Jude (the storm) to blow me away (literally). The picture is taken at three o'clock in the afternoon, although the sky is black.

Just Kids - Patti Smith

I'm currently on page 178 of Patti Smith's book Just Kids. The book is incredibly well written, sad, inspiring and brutally honest. I can't even imagine going through half of what she did. I have got so much admiration for her.

Girls can do it too

Nothing excites me more than good music, especially female fronted bands. So, turn up your speakers, and have shuffle through this playlist: Girls can do it too.

Disposables

Picked up six disposable cameras today, with pictures from all summer. In the top one, we're just too cool for our own best. Or at least that's what we thought.. Also - Zahra just pointed out that the guy behind us in the Kiss T-shirt is peeing. Oh well.

Visual Diary: Bergen

Zahra at Søstrene Hagelin in Strandgaten, where they've got the best fish soup and fish cakes I've ever tasted.

Johanneskirken (St. Johns Church), at Nygårdshøyden.

A pretty little street just off Støletorget.

The messiest and most overpriced second hand shop I have ever seen, in Øvregaten.

Sjøboden @ Bryggen in Bergen

While in Bergen, we stopped by Sjøboden twice. It's a really cool pub located on Bryggen, in the heart of Bergen. My mum and dad met here in 1985 (ish), when one of my dad's friends was flirting with my mum. That didn't turn out very well, so my dad saved the day, and five years later, me! So, I really like this place.

I would definitely recommend this place on a weekday, as it's never too busy, and it's got live music every night. On weekends on the other hand, I'd keep a safe distance, as it gets filled with drunk and loud eighteen year olds.
