Visual Diary: Bergen

Zahra at Søstrene Hagelin in Strandgaten, where they've got the best fish soup and fish cakes I've ever tasted.

Johanneskirken (St. Johns Church), at Nygårdshøyden.

A pretty little street just off Støletorget.

The messiest and most overpriced second hand shop I have ever seen, in Øvregaten.

View from the window in Folk og Røvere, in Skostredet.

Sjøboden @ Bryggen in Bergen

While in Bergen, we stopped by Sjøboden twice. It's a really cool pub located on Bryggen, in the heart of Bergen. My mum and dad met here in 1985 (ish), when one of my dad's friends was flirting with my mum. That didn't turn out very well, so my dad saved the day, and five years later, me! So, I really like this place.

I would definitely recommend this place on a weekday, as it's never too busy, and it's got live music every night. On weekends on the other hand, I'd keep a safe distance, as it gets filled with drunk and loud eighteen year olds.

Life's a Beach

Tuesday morning, my friend Zahra picked me up to go to Edinburgh. Today's been beautiful and sunny, so we borrowed her sisters dogs, Tilda and Tico, and took them, and Zahra's dog Tobi for a picnik on the beach. We ended up staying for hours, before we left around six o' clock, covered in sand.

The Edinburgh festival is on, so yesterday we ended up going to a not-so-funny stand up show, and the gentleman juggler, Mat Ricardo. Tomorrow will be quite busy, as we're going for brunch at a farmers market, and then we're going to the top of Arthur's seat to get a view of the city. After that, we've got tickets to... THE LADY BOYS OF BANGKOK! I'm not quite sure what to expect, but I'm sure it'll be funny. And - after that, we're going on a ghost tour in the Edinburgh Vaults. Very interesting, and incredibly scary.

Last Day of Secret Garden Party

Hat from a market in Spain, scarf from Monki, kimono from Topshop, top from Weekday, the shorts are an old pair of jeans from Monki, and shoes from Office.

Clever as I am, I only packed black, white and grey clothes for the festival, meaning that if it got really cold, I could just wear it all at once, without looking like a clown. I was probably the least colorful person on the entire festival, surrounded by people with glittery faces and nipple tassels, but oh well.
