It's not everyday you come across a band such as The Entrance Band. How three people can make produce so much sound is just beyond me - and the're all so incredibly talented! Sunday night at The Lexington in Angel was perfect. Such a small venue for such a good band. They all just blew my away! Guy with his upside down left handed guitar, Derek on drums, and the increcible Paz Lenchantin on bass.  No wonder Pixies chose Paz to go on tour with them..

Another night another gig. And last night, it was Uncle Acid and The Deadbeats, with support from Black Moth, a female led hard rock band, with heavy riffs and a drummer that looked just like a young Lemmy Kilmister. They played a really good set, and were a great start to the evening. I've been playing their song "Blackbirds Fall" on repeat on spotify today, and I think you should do the same. Anyway. They came, they played, and then;

I have no idea what I was expecting, but it was better than I could have ever imagined! They were absolutely incredible, and they went straight to the top of my list of best live performances I've ever seen. They were just fucking great!

Last night I saw Brody Dalle with The Beaches playing support at Electric Ballroom in Camden. It was the first I had ever heard of Canadian band The Beaches, but it was so refreshing with an all girl band playing loud and noisy music. And obviously followed by the queen of noise herself, Mrs.Brody Dalle Homme. I got a pint thrown in my face during the second song, and towards the end of the set I didn't know if what I was covered in was beer, my own, or someone elses swear. Or maybe just a joyful mix of the three. With a few elbows in the face and head as well, it turned into a perfect steamy punk night.

Browsing through some old pictures on my laptop, when I came across these, from a Silver gig at 1880 in Bergen, 2nd of February 2007. At the time I was sixteen and a half, and had a huge crush on long haired guitarist. Halfway through their set, the venue had a powercut, so I remember awkwardly standing there, right in front of the stage, waiting for them to start playing again.

1970's Bergen

 photo 2372793_h1a8d0979fd20953c6864_v1394793723_1024x1024.jpeg

It wasn't until after I left Bergen and moved to London, I realized how beautiful the city is. I love the mountains, the fresh air, the sea, the old tree houses and the narrow streets between them. I love skillingsboller, the fish soup and fish cakes at Søstrene Hagelin, tuesday nights at Garage, and everything else about it. Except for the 300 days of rain. I'm going home for a week during easter, and I really can't wait. I'm excited to wake up in my lovely bedroom in my mum's house, relax, and spend time with my friends and family.

While scrolling down my facebook newsfeed, I came across a website with loads of pictures of Bergen, and I completely fell in love with Bergen during the seventies. This was the decade my dad spent all of his teenage years, with long hair and a moustache, probably wearing denim jackets while listening to The Ramones, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin, and all of the other incredible music the seventies had to offer. My mum's a few years youger, so she probably doesn't even remember entering 1970 as a four year old. She started school a few years later, and then probably grew awkwardly tall at an early age, like I did, before she turned into a foxy lady in the early eighties. But that's another story. Well, here's some pictures from my mum and dad's Bergen.
